About

The data every family deserves.

College Signal exists because generic advice is the default, and every family — regardless of what they can spend — deserves a specific, honest read on their student's chances. We believe AI can give every kid that read.

Why we built it

We wanted the numbers.

Families spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours on college advice and still come away without a specific, honest read on their student's actual chances. Counselors are thoughtful and overloaded. Consultants are expensive and often still vague. The data a family actually needs — what moves the odds, at which schools, by how much — sits just out of reach.

We started building the thing we wished existed. A report that looks at a real student's transcript, scores, and activities, reads each school on their list against what that school actually values, and says, with its work shown, where they stand today and what levers move the odds.

Every family should have this. That is what we are building.

What we believe

Principles.

01
Specifics, not platitudes.

Generic advice does not help a family decide anything. A report that tells you which activity reads strongest for which schools, and what to do about it, does.

02
Show the work.

Every probability is grounded in the school's published acceptance rate and adjusted by documented factors pulled from the student's file. You can see what moved the number.

03
Clarity for every family.

Families who can afford private consultants already get a version of this. We want the same quality of read available to everyone else, priced accordingly.

04
Student data is the student's.

We don't train on it. We don't sell it. A student can delete their profile and every derived report in one click.
